Over the past 25 years, the NE Portland demographics and landscape have gone through a huge transformation. Today, NE Portland is known for its kitschy neighborhoods, such as the Alberta Arts District. The neighborhoods offer a variety of local restaurants, low-key bars, hip boutiques and a variety of live music venues and bars. The area is a reflection of urban growth and revitalization as homes have been leveled to make way to multi-level, mixed-use spaces. This means new, apartment-style condo buildings now exist next to the classic bungalows and craftsmen homes that have existed in NE Portland for decades. It’s an interesting mix of old and new as the area continues to evolve and change.
