As one of the largest suburbs of the Portland Metro, Beaverton is home to some of Oregon’s biggest companies, including the Nike World Headquarters. Beaverton stretches from the edge of the West Hills out into the Tualatin Valley. This provides for great proximity to Downtown Portland as well as easy access to the Oregon Coast. The Beaverton School District is the public school system for Beaverton and Aloha OR. The district includes 6 high schools, 9 middle schools, 31 elementary schools, 3 K-8 schools.

Portland Community College’s Rock Creek Campus is in the Beaverton area.
OHSU’s West Campus sits on the border of Beaverton and Hillsboro, and is the location of the Oregon National Primate Research Center as well as the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute.
Things to do in Beaverton OR
The Tualatin Hills Nature Park offers about 5 miles of trails through 222 acres of wildlife preserve. The park includes wetlands, forests and streams and is a great way to escape the city without having to actually leave it! The one caveat is that since it’s a wildlife preserve, this means the pooches have to stay home.
Vineyards are plentiful in the valleys of Oregon. You can easily access Copper Mountain Vineyards and Hamacher Wines within the boundaries of Beaverton, or you can spread out and visit any number of wineries in the Tualatin Valley and its nearby neighbor, Yamhill Valley. Take a leisurely Sunday drive, join any number of organized wine tours, or even get your friends together and plan one of your own!
Stop by the Beaverton Farmers Market on Saturdays to pick up some goods from a wide array of local venders.
If you can get your hands on passes, trips through the Nike Employee store and/or the Columbia Employee stores are well worth it!
