Milwaukie is served by the North Clackamas School District, a large school district spanning several cities on the NE side of the county. The city of Milwaukie includes ten of the eighteen elementary schools within the district, plus two middle schools and two traditional high schools. The city is also home to New Urban High School and two of the three campuses of the Sabin-Schellenberg Technical Center, which offers career-related electives to district high schoolers.
The district also offers a few other non-traditional options for students. The Clackamas We Academy serves as the virutal platform for those that prefer to learn from home. And Cascade Heights Public Charter School serves kindergarten through 8th grad, and Clackamas Middle College provides a unique experience
Milwaukie is also home to La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, which is the area’s private Catholic high school.
Things to do in Milwaukie OR
The Milwaukie’s Farmers Market is open every Sunday from May through October in downtown Milwaukie.
Take a dip at the North Clackamas Aquatic Park. With two big indoor water slides, and a wave pool, it’s a great way to escape the heat, or entertain stir-crazy littles during the rainy season.
Access the Willamette River at Milwaukie Bay Park. The park is 8.5 acres nestled between the Willamette River, Kellogg Creek and Johnson Creek.
Bob’s Red Mill World Headquarters calls Milwaukie OR home. Visit their Whole Grain Store, which includes a restaurant and bakery or take a factory tour.
